Van Steinburg is the international representative for Canada`s First District of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). In this capacity, he leads the IBEW jurisprudence and interloka local cases in all sectors. He is a former commercial director of IBEW Local 213, where he led the union, managed financial assets and negotiated and managed collective agreements. Van Steinburg is also the former Chairman of the Employment Council of the BC Building Trades Unions. He was a member of the Advisory Committee for the Industry Training Authority and the BC Safety Authority. Before taking on various leadership roles, Van Steinburg worked as an electrician on commercial and industrial projects throughout the lower continent. He received his red seal for province bc and received his journeyperson (Electrical Construction and Maintenance) name from BC Institute of Technology. The Faculty of Physics is looking for qualified candidates who are interns at the UFV for a temporary appointment in the 2020-2021 academic year. This LTA is scheduled for a 12-month appointment (August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021) and includes the preparation and teaching of six (6) physics and/or engineering courses as well as some services for the department and the university. Concretely, we are interested in candidates who can teach as part of the degree in engineering physics the following courses: start: September 1, 2020 or as otherwise agreed. The collective agreement is a contract negotiated through collective bargaining between the Association of Faculties and Staff (FSA) and the UFV. UFV is working with the Post-Secondary Employers Association (PSEA) to ensure that the negotiated agreement complies with sustainable service mandates.
